I am Prince Gilbert Zilevu , an IT/data analyst
During the space of about 3years after national service without a paying job, I found myself having a guardian away from home. One who had become a mother and a friend.
She opened up their small one-bedroom space in the psychiatric nurses’ quarters as If it was no inconvenience at all. We lived and strove together as one big family striving for a collective betterment both for ourselves and the friends we came to know as our love family. Frequently our small space is in search of guidance and sometimes a meal to fill their hungry bellies. Nurse Bertha’s benevolence is one that knows almost no boundaries at all.
The details of my experience of her personality and deeds are one that cannot be quantified in a short testimonial. However, I believe her journey has not yet ended but only taken a bumpy detour. One that has left us all with a lot to hope for. Hmmm, Unfortunate things they say happen to good people indeed. Nevertheless, we’re filled with hope that help will not be withheld from a person who has out of her little helped many. Let us not leave things to chance or to fate. Let us help keep alive one of the very few good people left in society. Many lives already depend on nurse Bertha. Many more will need her alive.
